Multiple sources are reporting that actress Brittany murphy went into cardiac arrest this morning and could not be revived.

A 911 call was placed from her husband Simon Monjack’s home in Los Angeles at 8:00 am, according to the L.A. Fire Department.

Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Update @ 3:11PM: We’re told that Murphy’s mother discovered her unconscious in the shower. When paramedics arrived, they determined that she was already in full cardiac arrest and immediately moved to administer CPR. They continued the CPR while enroute to Cedars-Sinai, but Murphy was unresponsive.

The L.A. County coroner’s office will be picking Murphy’s body up later today and will launch an investigation as soon as possible.
